Join us on November 20, as we gather for the Transgender Day of Remembrance, a powerful evening led by Council Woman Traci Park's office, LA Civil Rights, and our Transgender Advisory Council. Together, we will honor the lives lost to anti-trans violence through a night of solidarity, remembrance, and belonging. The evening will feature readings, performances, and messages of support from community leaders and organizations.
LA Civil Rights' Reparations Advisory Commission and Councilmember Tim McOsker are inviting the community to "Your Civil Rights & Civic Participation Day."
During this event Council District 15 and LA Civil Rights will present an overview of the LA Civil Rights Department, provide details on its Reparations Study, and help with voting access and services.

All are welcome to participate in the small, in-person sessions. We hope to hear in particular from the following demographics that were underrepresented in responses to our Black Experience Study:

Through open dialogue, education, and actionable solutions, we commit to transforming the relationship between law enforcement and the transgender community into one that affirms and safeguards every individual's right and dignity.
