In celebration of Black History Month 2025 and in collaboration with Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, we are thrilled to invite you to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Story of Us, a photography exhibition by acclaimed Los Angeles photographer Leroy Hamilton. Join us on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the Henry P. Rios Bridge Gallery (third floor of City Hall East) for this special unveiling.

Inspired by this year’s National Black History Month theme, African Americans and Labor, Hamilton’s work highlights the transformative role of Black labor in shaping history and community. His striking images offer a powerful visual narrative of the resilience, contributions, and enduring legacy of Black Angelenos.

Following the ribbon-cutting, we invite you to join us in council for the African American Heritage Month presentation, where we will honor Our Author Study Club’s Living Legend and Hall of Fame honorees. A reception will follow on the forecourt of City Hall.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
