Yenise Camacho's professional journey reflects her unwavering commitment to uplifting communities and promoting equity throughout Los Angeles. Beginning her career with the City of Pasadena’s District 3, Yenise cultivated her passion for public service and community engagement. Transitioning to the City of Los Angeles, she joined Council District 8 as a Finance Specialist and Case Manager, where she played a pivotal role in assisting constituents with City-related issues.
However, it was in Council District 9, under the leadership of Councilman Curren Price, where Yenise truly found her calling. Starting as a Field Deputy, she immersed herself in the District’s diverse communities, actively listening to the concerns and needs of residents. She also helped implement the COVID-19 vaccination strategy, forging partnerships with churches to ensure equitable access to the vaccine.
Yenise's commitment to fostering meaningful connections, and addressing homelessness and illegal dumping issues led to her role as Director of Environmental Equity and Constituent Services. In this capacity, Yenise managed the District's Clean and Green program, and championed initiatives aimed at increasing environmental equity and enhancing resident wellbeing and quality of life
As Yenise continues her public service journey with LA Civil Rights, she remains committed to social justice, community empowerment, and advocacy to advance civil rights initiatives. Yenise earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master’s of Public Administration from Cal State Los Angeles. In her leisure time, she enjoys strength training and shares moments with her husband and baby girl while cheering on the Dodgers and the LA Kings.
