Rosa M. Russell is a dedicated civic leader and public servant with over 35 years of experience in public administration, political organizing, and community empowerment. A proud South Los Angeles native, she began her career with the Los Angeles Unified School District and went on to serve under Councilmembers David Cunningham and Nate Holden, where she became a strong advocate for seniors and underserved communities. She continued advancing equity through her work with the Los Angeles Community Development Department, promoting neighborhood revitalization and civic participation. Currently serving as a Commissioner of the Los Angeles City Human Relations Commission, Ms. Russell also leads within the Democratic Party as President emeritus of the 54th Assembly District and holds key roles with the Tenth District Women’s Steering Committee and the New Frontier Democratic Club. A board member of the Center for Health Care Rights and lifelong member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ, she remains guided by faith, justice, and service to community.
