Rigoberto Espinoza (He/Him) is a first-generation student at the California State University, Los Angeles and he is pursuing a degree in Political Science. He strongly believes in equality and that everyone must be treated with dignity and respect. Rigoberto seeks to support and protect human rights and opportunities for all, regardless of background, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, or sexuality. Rigoberto aspires to attend graduate school, and he hopes to work as a Legislative Fellow, where he will have the opportunity to serve the people, make their voices heard, and support change for the good of all.
Although he is just a freshman in college, Rigoberto has already demonstrated his commitment to advocacy and equity. While in high school, he wrote letters to members of the Los Angeles Unified School District Board in defense of a teacher facing dismissal, challenging himself to advocate and stand for what he believes is right. He also went to Washington D.C. to debate with students from across the country, and learned more about the federal government.
Rigoberto values company, spending his free time with his girlfriend, exploring and discovering new experiences around Los Angeles. Fun fact, his favorite book is “The Distance Between Us” by Reyna Grande.
