Nikquania Gamble is a curious thinker, community-builder, and emerging planner who is passionate about asking a deceptively simple question: How can we make our communities work better for the people who live in them?

As a Policy Fellow with the Los Angeles Civil Rights Department and a Master of Urban Planning student at the University of Southern California, Nikquania is exploring the intersections of policy, equity, community development, and the built environment. Her path to this work has taken her through higher education, residential life, community engagement, and program management. These experiences have allowed her to work alongside diverse communities and see firsthand how systems, policies, and institutions shape people’s everyday lives.

A Boston native and first-generation college graduate, Nikquania earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Outside of work and school, she enjoys exploring new places, finding new creative outlets, staying active, and imagining what more joyful, equitable, and expansive communities can look like.
