Nov. 17, 2023 — The Los Angeles Civil Rights Department and it's Transgender Advisory Council, hosted the first-ever Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) Community Gathering at the Los Angeles City Hall, bringing together more than 120 community members, advocates, and allies.
This historic event served as a space for collective mourning, reflection, and resilience, honoring the lives lost to anti-trans violence while reaffirming a commitment to justice, safety, and visibility for transgender and gender-expansive individuals. Through heartfelt tributes, storytelling, and moments of solidarity, the gathering emphasized the importance of community-led advocacy and the ongoing fight for a future where all Queer and trans people can live with dignity and safety.
