In recognition of Second Chances Month, LA Civil Rights joined the Office of Mayor Karen Bass at the Re-entry Resource and Wellness Fair, standing alongside justice-involved Angelenos and their families while uplifting the importance of dignity, opportunity, and belonging for all residents. The event brought together community organizations, advocates, and City resources dedicated to supporting re-entry and helping residents overcome barriers to employment, housing, and stability. LA Civil Rights also shared an important message: justice-involved residents often face compounded discrimination, and anyone experiencing discrimination has rights and protections under the law. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, LA Civil Rights continues to support pathways to re-entry because every Angeleno deserves the opportunity to move forward in an #LAForAll.
