Destiny Garcia (she/her) is a fourth year undergraduate student at UCLA, majoring in Public Affairs. Growing up in Compton, she witnessed a lot of challenges her community faced. Due to this, she developed a passion for social justice and community advocacy. She served as liaison and community service chair in her sorority Lambda Theta NU, which helped her gain leadership skills.

This summer, she volunteered with the nonprofit My New House LA, where she served as a case manager and helped community members complete housing applications.  On campus, she will be serving as Appointments Director for the Undergraduate Students Association Council where she hopes to amplify students’ voices.

Her hobbies include baking and cooking for her family and friends- she loves making cinnamon rolls. In her free time, she also enjoys going to the gym and running at the beach. She is excited to make a meaningful impact through her internship.
