Charlie Rivera

Charlie Rivera was born and raised in Oceanside, California located in San Diego County.  She serves as a Lead Policy Fellow, supporting the department’s mission through branding, graphic design and social media engagement. She began working with LA Civil Rights as an intern from the University of Southern California in 2021 through USC Dornsife’s undergraduate civil rights advocacy clinic, Agents of Change. Over the years, Charlie has remained committed to LA Civil Rights in her role as a Policy & Design Fellow while also pursuing other achievements to further her career as an advocate.

Charlie graduated with honors from USC in December 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Social Work and Juvenile Justice. Post-grad, she worked at Inner City Law Center as an Administrative Clerk, connecting Angelenos who were unhoused or facing housing insecurity to legal assistance and other supportive services. In 2024, Charlie moved to Philadelphia, where she started law school at Temple University, Beasley School of Law. There, she has interned with Comcast's in-house legal department, participates in the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, and has remained committed to civil service by working with a local law firm that specializes in special education law and taking classes related to empowering marginalized communities through legal advocacy.
