Bruce Gip (he/him/his) is a Senior Administrative Clerk at the LA Civil Rights Department, where he applies his steadfast commitment to public service and community engagement. He is one of the first people the public engages with when contacting the LA Civil Rights Department. He leads scheduling for our COO, created all inventory mechanisms for the Department, and manages our online donation portal.
In addition to his primary duties, Bruce serves the Department as both the Emergency Management Floor Warden and the Cybersecurity Coordinator, notably winning the City’s Information Technology Agency’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month Digital Gold recognition two years in a row. Bruce is responsible for onboarding new employees and frequently conducts City Hall tours for Department guests, visitors, and even groups of students. His commitment to safety is demonstrated by his completion of both the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the LA County Sheriff's Community Academy trainings. Prior to joining the City of Los Angeles, Bruce earned a graduate degree in Business Administration from American University in Washington, D.C.
Committed to fostering community well-being and readiness, Bruce has dedicated years of service as a volunteer for prominent local events, including local 4th of July parades, annual Easter egg hunts, and National Night Outs. Passionate about ensuring equitable access and support for all Angelenos, Bruce leverages his fluency in Cantonese and his unique perspective to serve the AAPI community and other underrepresented groups across Los Angeles.
