Summer Chiang (she/her) was born and raised on O’ahu, and is currently majoring in Political Science and Public Affairs at UCLA, where she’s involved in efforts to increase food, housing, and healthcare accessibility, as well as research projects focused on discrimination in urban planning and social movements. Summer is also interested in civil rights law, which she has explored through her time with the Hawai’i Department of the Attorney General and the ABA Section for Civil Rights and Social Justice. Inspired by the strong sense of community found in her home state and informed by her experiences since, she strives to center connection and understanding in her work with LA Civil Rights. In her free time, she can be found in a hot yoga class, going to concerts, hiking, or trying new restaurants.
