LA CIVIL RIGHTS DEPARTMENT TO LIGHT UP ICONIC LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT LOS ANGELES
LA For All 3rd Anniversary, September 27-29, 2024
Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles City Civil + Human Rights, and Equity Department (“LA Civil Rights”) will celebrate the 3rd anniversary of LA is For Everyone, the award-winning PSA campaign promoting community, diversity, and anti-hate. From September 27th through 29th, our City will be illuminated in a beautiful mosaic of colors across iconic LA landmarks, including the U.S. Bank Tower, LAX Pylons, Union Station, the LA Zoo, Warehouse No. 1 at the Port of Los Angeles, City Hall, and many other locations! WHEN: Friday, September 27 - September 29 | Lighting illuminate at dusk
WHERE: Locations throughout the City will provide great visuals, including LA City Hall, the InterContinental Hotel at the Wilshire Grand Center, BMO Stadium, LA Coliseum, LA Zoo, 2nd Street Tunnel, and USC’s Galen Center digital board.

“Since 2020, LA Civil Rights has worked to strengthen, promote, and fight to protect Angelenos and LA visitors from hate and discrimination,” said LA Civil Rights Executive Director Capri Maddox. “This year more than a dozen LA landmarks will be illuminated in honor of our LA is For Everyone award winning campaign. It is a beautiful mosaic of colors representing the brilliant diversity of our City. Its growth in popularity is part of our intentional awareness campaign that hate has no home in Los Angeles, and we are building an inclusive LA for All.”
WHAT: LA Civil Rights is lighting up the City in celebration and recognition of the 3rd anniversary of the award winning, anti-hate campaign, LA For All. This year, for THREE nights iconic landmarks across LA will be illuminated once the sun goes down to acknowledge THREE years of fighting hate in LA and in celebration of THREE things: diversity, solidarity, and an #LAForAll.

BACKGROUND:
The LA Civil Rights Department created and launched the LA For All campaign in 2020 as hate crimes were rising across the region. The campaign has since grown to include 21 languages and has been displayed in over 10,000 throughout Greater Los Angeles, including trains and buses, city parks, libraries, and hundreds of local businesses.
