City of Los Angeles and Non Profit Leaders Announce Solidarity in Offering Services to Impacted Communities In Response to Deportation-Related Events

Together in Service Coalition and City of LA band together to resource and support communities most vulnerable at this time.

WHAT: City of Los Angeles officials and the Together in Service coalition will hold a press conference to amplify and share the support and services to Angelenos in response to deportation-related events.  The recent events of unrest and escalating conflict have been deeply upsetting. For many Angelenos, especially our immigrant communities,  the fear and uncertainty sparked by confrontations involving peaceful protestors and deportation enforcement are overwhelming and destabilizing.

Together in Service, a coalition of diverse, non-partisan non-profit organizations, and the City of Los Angeles will include the following services:

  • Host healing-centered spaces and dialogues, including youth-focused conversations and trauma-informed support circles.
  • Distribute food and essential items through trusted, local community partners.
  • Coordinate with legal aid and immigrant rights organizations to ensure families and agencies have access toKnow Your Rights” resources and services to stay informed, supported, and not alone.
  • Provide clear, safe avenues for civic engagement, volunteerism, and mutual aid        through our citywide service network.
  • Civil Rights Enforcement services for violations to the Los Angeles Civil Rights law to bring claims in case of discrimination, including perceived immigration status, in the private sector of commerce, education, employment, and housing.
