Monet Bagneris Tolbert has passions for the arts, health & wellness, culture, child advocacy, and serving the most vulnerable populations. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Studies from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. She also received a Professional Development Certificate in Trauma Informed Care from Indiana University, Bloomington. In a variety of capacities, she has collaborated with government officials, community organizations, and families to help ensure a healthier tomorrow. She founded Monet Cares, a nonprofit focused on promoting healthy lifestyles for youth and their families. Monet handled all aspects of the organization, including operations, recruitment and training, public relations, fundraising and development, and implementing programs and events. Monet has also functioned as a Spanish translator locally and abroad. The Global Prosperity & Peace Initiative recognized Monet as a Peace Ambassador for her efforts promoting peace through her nonprofit and community engagement. Monet recently worked in Community Engagement and Development for a homeless services nonprofit. At this organization, Monet spearheaded and co-led their Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives, was a member of the board’s EDI Committee and Human Resources Committee, and also served on the Rebrand Committee– helping facilitate a complete organizational rebrand. In 2022, she created and co-executive produced a limited-edition television show that highlighted the contributions of the AAPI community, which received a Wave Award of Excellence. Monet recently joined LA Civil Rights as a Human Relations Advocate.
For the past 20 years, Monet has performed as a singer, songwriter, and musician (in-studio and on-stage), working with legends like Bobby Womack, A Taste of Honey, Nate Dogg, Charlie Wilson, Smokey Robinson, and Cedric The Entertainer. Monet enjoys being immersed in music and being with her family.
