"I want people of all kinds whether it be race, gender, sexuality, or class to spread love and appreciation while also fighting discrimination that may occur within Los Angeles. For my designs, I wanted to include x shaped drawings and heart shaped drawings to represent and show hate and love symbols. I chose the colors for my poster to be a gradient of intense red (the hate side) with calm purple (the love side), I also chose the colors black and white to represent darkness on the hate side and light on the love side. I wanted to go for an abstract design or feel for my poster because I thought of drawing simplistic lines for the hate and love sides for my poster, I wanted to show different things going on and what symbols really represent on either side. I strongly feel that the people of Los Angeles must stand up for themselves in situations like these and feel bond and support for those around them regardless of who they are and fight together to stop the discrimination." -- Luis Lomeli
