Kim Kasreliovich (she/her) is the Assistant General Manager of the Civil Rights Enforcement arm of the Los Angeles Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department (LA Civil Rights). The LA Civil Rights Department was started in 2019 and is the first dedicated civil rights department established by the city of Los Angeles. As the Assistant General Manager, Kim is responsible for overseeing the investigation and prosecution of violations of the Los Angeles Civil and Human Rights Law which prohibits discrimination in certain private-sector activities within the city.
Prior to joining LA Civil Rights, Kim spent the last 15 years as a public sector attorney representing everyone from parolees to California’s public agencies. Most recently, Kim served as a Supervising Deputy Attorney General at the California Attorney General's Office. In this role, Kim led an accomplished team in representing various Boards, Bureaus, and Commissions of the state in administrative hearings, superior court proceedings, and the court of appeals.
In addition, Kim spent many years as a prosecutor for the State Bar of California, working to uphold ethics standards for attorneys. Kim prosecuted cases at every level, from failures to communicate with clients to fraud, elder abuse, misappropriation, and the involuntary assumption of an attorney’s practice. Prior to receiving her law degree, Kim worked as an Americorps member helping the City of Seattle implement an anti-racist framework in their housing and homelessness department.
Kim earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Kim is admitted to practice law in both California and Washington state.
