Katherine Yeom is the Executive Director at Korean American Family Services (KFAM) since 2020. Katherine joined KFAM in 2009 and in 2015, became the Deputy Director. Under Katherine’s leadership, KFAM has doubled the number of staff, increased the access of services to vulnerable individuals and doubled the annual operating budget since 2015. She is an ardent advocate for API communities, served on the Board of the Domestic Violence Council of LA County, Faith Collaborative Council of LA County and the Korean American United Foundation (KAUF). In 2020, Katherine was recognized as one of the Emerging Leaders in Koreatown by Congressman Jimmy Gomez. Currently, she is serving on the board of K-ARC and CACFP Roundtable. Prior joining KFAM, Katherine was a middle school and high school teacher in the Los Angeles school district and internationally at in South Korea. She received her BA in History, BS in Biological Sciences from UMBC and her MA in teaching from USC.
