Jamila Cummings (she/her) is a community researcher, mental advocate, and strategic storyteller with a background in youth action participatory research, peer-to-peer support, and youth policy. She is a senior at the University of Los Angeles, California (UCLA), majoring in Public Affairs and minoring in Education. With a deep-rooted commitment to empowering marginalized communities, Jamila's academic journey is fueled by a desire to evoke positive change. 

She utilizes her lived experiences to shape her research endeavors; her research centers on expanding
and improving equity in marginalized communities. 

Jamila seeks to further her education by pursuing a joint MPH and JD and pursuing a career in public interest work. These career paths align with her dedication to advocating and protecting the rights of her community and other underserved populations. In every endeavor she undertakes, Jamila Cummings exemplifies a tireless commitment to creating a
fairer and more inclusive society, making her a promising advocate for change in the years to come.
