Ilyana Capellan is a Public Relations Specialist on the Communications team for the Los Angeles Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department (LA Civil Rights).
Ilyana comes to LA Civil Rights with a background in TV Journalism and TV Production. Before joining the team, she was a Multi-Media Journalist for news outlets in Alabama, California, and Louisiana. She was in front of the camera telling impactful stories surrounding race, culture, and politics and sharing important health updates during the most trying times of the pandemic. She used her platform to connect with community members in both English and Spanish and give a voice to the voiceless, now she is using that skill to help make a difference here at home.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, being a boy mom, and binge-watching shows with her husband. She’s a fan of good food, good music, and good energy.
