Panel Discussion after Devorah's Hope

LOS ANGELES - Yesterday, LA Civil Rights hosted a film screening of Devorah's Hope at Television City Studios with Agudath Israel, the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, ADL Los Angeles, and the Jewish Museum of the American West. The original dramatized documentary by Project Witness and BIG Productions tells the journey of a brother and sister's resilience to live during the Holocaust and the hope it brings during a horrific time.

After the film screening, LA Civil Rights Director of Policy and Enforcement Joumana Silyan-Saba moderated a compelling panel discussion on rising antisemitism and peaceful resolutions against hate in Los Angeles and United States. The panel included founder and director of Project Witness Ruth Lichtenstein, author on antisemitism and marketing consultant Israel B. Bitton, and Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member and Jewish Federation chairman and graduate, Nick Melvoin.

Thank you to Chairman Dr. Irving Lebovics of Agudath Israel of California, Adeena Bleich from Television City Studios, Jacqueline Hamilton from the Mayor's Office, Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Blake Chow, and Attorney General Bonta's Special Assistant Attorney General, Damon Brown for being part of this event.

Most of all, thank you to the many people who joined us for this moving and important event as we commit to Holocaust education. We remember our history so that we may never repeat it.
