The LA Civil Rights Faith Leaders Roundtable welcomed Mayor Karen Bass to the department's John Lewis Conference Center for an open and frank dialogue on rising hate crimes, homelessness, and how faith communities can be a part of lifting a better Los Angeles.

The Faith Leaders Roundtable is a group of diverse faith leaders representing many different faith communities in Los Angeles, and is essential to the department's outreach and engagement efforts. In the past, the roundtable has worked with the department to host Solidarity Vigils, Unity Prayers, Interfaith Dialogues and more.

With homelessness as the key humanitarian crisis facing Los Angeles, the Roundtable was eager to hear from the Mayor's administration and offer ideas for involving faith communities. Mayor Bass, who has a known track record for bringing people together around common solutions, heard directly from leaders of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Baha'i and other faiths about the issues they are facing and how they could get involved.

Faith communities are critical to solving issues of hate, discrimination, and homelessness. We were honored to host Mayor Bass and bring faith leaders into the conversation.
