Courtney A. Morgan-Greene is an immigration and nationality attorney specializing in sports, entertainment, business, and family-based immigration.
Committed to the public interest and public service, Commissioner Morgan-Greene previously conducted death penalty investigations with the California State Habeas Corpus Resource Center, clerked for the Los Angeles County Public Defender, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center, the Alliance for Children’s Rights, and was as an inaugural member of the Loyola Law School Center for Juvenile Law and Policy’s Juvenile Justice Clinic.
Commissioner Morgan-Greene completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science and African-American Studies at the University of California at Berkeley in 2000 and obtained her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2006, receiving the Dean’s Public Interest Award.
Nominated by Mayor Eric Garcetti and confirmed by the Los Angeles City Council, Commissioner Morgan-Greene has served on the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission since July 1, 2014, and is its immediate past President. Notable projects with the Commission include the Watts Uprising 50th Commemoration, Transgender Advisory Council, embRACE LA, Indigenous People’s Day, Community and Police Trust Building dinner dialogues and report, LGBTQ+, youth, and interfaith projects as well as various social justice and race equity projects with the African American Commissioners association.
