Oman Cardenas serves as a Human Relations Advocate at the LA Civil Rights Department.

Prior to working for the City of Los Angeles, Omar received his associate degree in Communications Studies from College of the Canyons and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in the same field from Cal State Northridge. He started his career as a Prevention Education and Outreach Specialist at StrengthUnited, where he was responsible for creating and delivering educational programs aimed at preventing violence and promoting safety. In this role, Omar had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals, including youth, parents, and community leaders, and was able to make a positive impact on their lives.

In addition to working at StrengthUnited, Omar also had the opportunity to work in Human Resources, where he assisted in equity and diversity initiatives. Omar is passionate about creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace, and he believe that everyone should have the opportunity to succeed regardless of their background. When not working, Omar enjoys spending time with my family, traveling, and exploring the great outdoors.
