Candy Ng serves as the Communications Deputy for the Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department. Prior to joining LA Civil Rights, Candy worked with developmentally disabled individuals at the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center to help bridge gaps in service disparity by providing education and training to families and community-based organizations for more equitable information on new policies and programs. She was on a special pilot project as the only Cantonese-speaking case manager to help families mitigate barriers to accessing services in the community. She is certified in Person-Centered Thinking, which is a philosophy to help people by understanding their strengths and supporting them in the choices of their everyday life. She hopes to continue her work to provide information in the Communications Department at the LA Civil Rights Department.
She was raised in the San Gabriel Valley. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC San Diego and a Master's in Public Administration from California State University Northridge. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and doing arts and crafts.
